During the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco, it was confirmed EA is working on an “Assassin’s Creed-style” open world game. Speaking at the conference CFO Blake Jorgensen said “We’ve never really operated in the largest genre of gaming, and that’s the action genre.” He went onto say “That’s the Assassin’s Creed-style games, more open-world, more single-player versus multiplayer. It’s not been an area that we’ve operated in. We recently hired Jade Raymond, who was behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise for Ubisoft and she will be building an action genre for us through a studio we’re building out in Montreal right now.”
This is great news and even better that EA hired Jade Raymond to helm the new studio called Motive, which the new studio is also helping out Visceral studios make the unannounced Star Wars game. EA has been lacking games in this type of genre and this news is very welcoming. What could this game be? My guess would be it’s a new IP. But in the realm of possibilities it could be an open world star wars game that would shock the gaming world if it was announced. Stay tuned for more news on this new game by Motive studios.
