Geralt Is Coming to Monster Hunter: World in a New Crossover Event

A big monster slaying crossover is coming. CD Projekt Red and Capcom have announced that Geralt is coming to Monster Hunter: World! The famed killer of monsters has arrived (via hated portal, of course) and is looking to ply his trade.

In a press release, CD Projekt Red and Capcom revealed the details of how Geralt is coming to Monster Hunter: World.

The collaboration sees Monster Hunter: World players take on the mantle of Geralt of Rivia — a professional monster slayer equipped with superhuman strength and reflexes — and has them take on a series of Witcher-inspired quests. These offer a unique gameplay experience blending RPG mechanics of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with Monster Hunter: World’s game systems.

Geralt is a master swordsman considered one of the deadliest warriors in the world of The Witcher. Monster Hunter: World players get to utilize his signature fighting style, seamlessly blending swordplay, combat magic, and an assortment of monster hunting equipment.

Geralt’s English voice actor Doug Cockle is reprising his role as the White Wolf for this new update. The Witcher crossover update will be completely free and will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Early 2019, with a PC release following shortly afterward.

This kind of crossover makes perfect sense and it’s interesting to see, especially with Geralt of Rivia arriving in Soulcalibur VI as a guest fighter earlier this year. The Witcher is an incredibly important franchise for CD Projekt Red, so it’s possible we could see other collaborations moving forward.
