A Quiet Place Trumps Ready Player One At The Box Office

Horror movies are seemingly come out of nowhere and doing very well at the box office. The movie A Quiet Place which was written, directed, and starring John Krasinski (The Office) has toppled the Spielberg movie Ready Player One at the domestic boxoffice.

A Quiet Place completely blew up an expectation that the movie would under perform at the box office. The movie grossed an estimated $50 million domestically and $21 million in the foreign market. This has brought the worldwide total for the movie to $71 million worldwide. The horror movie is about a family dealing with creatures that hunt their prey by sound. The movie stars the real life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. Ready Player One is still doing very well in the foreign market. The movie has grossed $294 million and with a added $96 million from the domestic release, Ready Player One is sitting at $391 million worldwide. It can easily finish its theater run at $500 million. The comedy Blockers did very well this weekend grossing $21.4 million. None of this really matters once Avengers: Infinity War is released at the end of the month.
