Yesterday, during the Halo 5: Guardians launch stream, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced that the new Xbox One experience and backwards compatibility will be available to all Xbox One owners on November 12. It was also later confirmed by Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) via twitter for the people that didn’t watch the live stream. The new Xbox One experience is currently in beta and only a handful of games have been released for backwards compatibility for Xbox One preview members.
This is great news for Xbox One gamers that are eager to try out the new dashboard that are not in the preview program, which offers up to 50% more speed and new features that include Cortana voice assistant. Backwards compatibility has been a long waited feature that gamers have been craving since its announcement at this year’s E3 press conference, in which Microsoft said over 100 titles will be available at launch. The new Xbox One experience and backwards compatibility launches November 12.
