In a surprise move at today’s Oculus Rift press event it was announced that the Virtual Reality headset will include what the presenter referred to as the greatest controller in the world- the wireless Xbox One controller. The upcoming wireless adapter will also be included with the headset. There will also be a controller specifically designed for Oculus Rift that provides haptic feedback.
Following the announcement the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, Phil Spencer, came on to the stage and announced a partnership between Microsoft and Oculus Rift. He then mentioned that Xbox One games can be streamed to Oculus Rift through Windows 10. This feature was demonstrated by showing footage of Forza being played through the Oculus Rift headset.
The Oculus Rift headset will ship in Q1 2016.
